UPDATED:

A man has been arrested and charged with an attempted abduction at Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg.

York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office deputies responded Tuesday to the indoor water park and resort, according to a release.

After speaking with the child’s family and the resort’s staff, deputies were told a man, identified as 46-year-old Travis Andrew Bright, of Greenville, North Carolina, had attempted to lure the child away from the pool area, authorities said. When the child tried to walk away, Bright stopped the child from leaving. Bright left the pool area, according to the release.

Deputies saw video footage from the Great Wolf Lodge and were able to identify Bright, who was a guest at the resort. He’s been charged with abduction and assault and battery, according to the sheriff’s office.

The child and Bright are not known to each other, according to the sheriff’s office.

“Providing a safe and secure environment for our guests is always our top priority. We immediately notified the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office after identifying actions that raised concern, and are actively assisting law enforcement as they investigate this matter further,” Jason Lasecki, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Great Wolf Resorts said.

He is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
